Curse of Resthaven, a new gothic narrative rogue from Toronto’s Hilltop Studios, will launch on October 29 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Mac.
In a marked departure from Hilltop’s acclaimed debut game, the colourful deduction puzzle-adventure Lil’ Guardsman, Curse tasks players with leading a colony that’s being threatened by supernatural forces. As Governor Ambrose, you’ll have to navigate a time loop that includes resource management, deck-building based expeditions, and interrogations with the people of Resthaven, all of whom are fully voiced by Canadian actors. The game also features a striking graphic novel-inspired art style.
Lil’ Guardsman was one of 2024’s biggest gaming delights, so I can’t wait to see what Hilltop has cooked up with its sophomore title. To help tide us over, Hilltop has also announced an expanded version of the game’s Steam demo will launch on Oct. 8, allowing you to sample the opening hours of the experience. The perfect Halloween title!
